It is no secret that takeaway coffee cups are causing havoc within the recycling industry because they contain a plastic lining that isn’t fully recyclable. This build-up of waste and unrecyclable materials is destroying our world as we know it. However, we will soon be introducing better takeaway coffee cup…

After extensive research, we will be bringing an exciting new takeaway coffee cup to The Refreshment Shop and potentially other areas of our company. This cup is like no other, it will change the way we view takeaway coffee cups. 99.75% of coffee cups today are not being recycled, instead being thrown away and therefore contributing to the waste in our world. Whilst we won’t reveal the name of this product until next week, needless to say that this is an exciting introduction for us and we are one of the first vending companies to do so…

The Midlands Business Network Expo is set to return at the Ricoh Arena!

The Midlands Business Network returns on Thursday 12th September at the Ricoh Arena for another interactive session filled with business networking, creating relationships and showcasing services. And Coinadrink will be in attendance once again! 

Another successful exhibition?

Just 4 weeks ago we were at the last Midlands Business Network event at Villa Park and it was such a success that we can’t wait for September 12th. This time it’s at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and if you happened to miss the June expo then there’s plenty of reasons why you can’t afford to make the same mistake twice. June 28th saw thousands of visitors come together to see what the region had to offer and they certainly didn’t leave disappointed. Over 100 businesses from a wide range of industries showcased something of interest. And ‘interest’ certainly wasn’t in short supply over on our stand!

It was great to see so many people understand the importance of workplace refreshments. Our practical Flavia 500 coffee machine handled demand perfectly, serving up delicious hot drinks to those inquisitive about what we could offer their business. Our sales team were just as busy, showcasing the ease in which workplace refreshments can work for pretty much any given business.

The ins and outs of September’s exhibition, with information such as our stand number and the machine we will be bringing with us, will be revealed in due course, but what we can say for now is to mark Thursday 12^th September in your diaries!

Coinadrink Limited. A true ‘Black Country’ business!

Right from the word ‘go’ in 1962, Coinadrink has been located in the Black Country, so needless to say, we have the ‘Black Country blood’ running through our veins! Our 57-year history has seen us build valuable working relationships through business networking events and exhibitions, and we are proud to call this region our home. Black Country Day has always fallen on the 14^th July, but its origins are intriguing to say the least. To begin, we think it’s important to understand how the term ‘Black Country’ developed, and then discuss which regions fall under the region…

Do you know where the Black Country is located?

Although not set in stone, it is believed that the Black Country gets its name from the mid 19^th century, where the thick smoke epitomised the intense iron and coal production in the West Midlands. Its location is just north of Worcestershire, slightly south of Staffordshire and just to the east of Birmingham. The four main boroughs are Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton, whilst some of the notable places of interest include Stourbridge, Wednesbury, West Bromwich and Willenhall.

The traditions of this famous day.

Black Country Day falls on the 14^th July because this is the anniversary of the World’s first steam engine, the Newcomen Engine, which was built in the area in 1712. If you’re keen on finding out more about this, then a replica of the engine, as well as more information, can still be viewed today in the Black Country Museum in Dudley!

The day aims to create a sense of community in the neighbourhoods that people both live and work, appreciating such a close-knit area. This year, 2019, it is set to fall on a Sunday, so it’s sure to be a weekend filled with great events that people can get involved in. These include carnivals, music festivals and sporting activities. You’ll meet some great people, and really get a sense of what makes the region so iconic!
