How the Micro Market is ready for a post-COVID world right now.

Following on from our recent article detailing how vending could help pave the way for a safer workplace both now and in a post-COVID environment, we wanted to detail how the advanced and hygienic Micro Market will also have a key role to play.

The Micro Market is regarded as the revolution in workplace refreshments. It’s unlike anything ever seen before and is still way ahead of its time. There are plenty of reasons why the market is already promoting a safer, more hygienic workplace. And the list of reasons may just continue to grow moving forward.

If there is one good thing to come out of 2020, it’s emphasising the long-standing importance of hygiene. Perhaps more specifically, the importance of using hygienic facilities housed within a clean, hygienic workplace.

We all know that we need to maintain good personal hygiene, including washing our hands, as a way to fight the COVID-19 virus. But keeping our workplace clean maybe doesn’t receive quite as much attention. This is a grave error, considering we will spend an average of 90,000 hours of our lives at work.

Even prior to this pandemic, we have always understood the importance of hygienic workplace facilities. Take our food hygiene standards, which go above and beyond to deliver our highly regarded fresh food service to both our fresh food vending machines and the Micro Market.

But the advanced characteristics of the market can also promote a safer working environment, even if this in an indirect benefit.

For example, the open-plan design makes it easy to social distance with colleagues. Whilst the 24-hour availability takes this even further, as it’s simple to stagger your break times accordingly.

Then there’s the self-service cashless payment terminal, which eliminates the need to come into contact with the germs that lie on coins and notes.

And as the world looks set to change forever in a post-COVID world, the Micro Market may just become even more convenient and deliver even more reassurance.

The Micro Market is already well prepared for a post-COVID world.

How the Micro Market can be the “go-to” solution in a post-COVID world.

It’s forecast that one of the industries that will have to adapt the most is retail. This is because the lively nature of shopping centres and the high street could become a hotbed for the virus.

The Micro Market is already keeping workforces around the region on site with a collection of refreshments including healthy meals, snacks and cold drinks. Many of our customers also have an office coffee machine housed in their market that delivers premium hot drinks, which therefore eliminates the need to visit the coffee shop off site.

But whilst the market is a great solution for larger sites that don’t have quality refreshments available off site, it may just be required for larger sites regardless. After all, why head off site into the uncertainty of the high street for quality refreshments when they’re available in your place of work?

And, who knows, this argument could be strengthened in the future. At the moment, our Micro Markets deliver fresh food, snacks, confectionery and hot and cold drinks, but we already try and cater to your requirements. The convenience store-like design can indeed offer more niche products if we see a demand.

Having everything you need available on site isn’t just convenient. It’s reassuring, too, which is an emotion we’re sure nobody will ever underestimate again.

The Micro Market delivers another benefit. The opportunity to push flexible working. This is something that all communities will see a rise in moving forward, as a way to reduce the number of staff on site at any one time.

As we get more accustomed to flexible ways of working, it is also likely that core office hours and designated breaks will be a thing of the past, to enable employees to maintain the autonomy they have got used to while working remotely. With this in mind, it is important to implement workplace catering solutions which can keep up and the Micro Market is an accessible and progressive option for workplaces of the future.

Certainly more so than the canteen, which could get phased out as workplaces hunt for a more advanced – and more importantly a more hygienic – refreshment solution.

The Micro Market is created to be a workplace refreshment solution that’s tailored to you. Your shape and size. Your branding. Your products. Contact us about getting your workplace prepared as the country looks for a way to adapt to the “new normal”.

The appeal of vending machines in a post-COVID world.

Vending has certainly adapted a lot over the years, with grander designs, more intuitive user interfaces and higher quality hot drinks. And as the world looks set to change forever due to COVID-19, Coinadrink has explored how vending may look once the pandemic has ceased. Whenever that may be.

The hygienic foundations of a vending machine.

In many ways, vending was as well prepared as it could be prior to the pandemic. Certainly, using a vending machine contains fewer touch points than using the kettle, and the rapid dispense times ensure there’s no congregating around the machine.

Then there’s contactless payments, which had already made an appearance prior to the pandemic. As of the time of this article, the total value of contactless transactions in the UK stands at 662 million. The progressive nature of vending means you can enjoy this convenience on your machine.

Backed up by our own stringent hygiene standards, we ourselves have always emphasised that vending remains a safe entity for the provision of food and drink. And this is a statement backed up by the Automatic Vending Association, which speaks volumes.

Vending machines have always been a safe entity for the provision of food and drink.

How will vending machines change in the future?

Business Reporter states that retail in particular will be significantly affected in a post-COVID world. With greater demand for hygienic facilities and solutions, this may mean more people turn to the convenience and safety of a vending machine.

Let’s go back to cashless and contactless payments for a second. As of 2020, 36% of all vending machines now take this form of payment. This is important, especially when you consider that The World Health Organisation (WHO) stressed the importance of cashless and contactless payments.

Vending has made real strides in other areas, too. Despite the common perception, vending machines are incredibly advanced. Stylish designs incorporate intuitive user interfaces, whilst an enticing drinks menu replicates the quality you’d expect in your favourite coffee shop.

Then there’s product scope. Vending machines have always been associated with “bread and butter” items such as cold drinks and snacks, but they can now offer a wider and perhaps more niche range of items in addition. And thanks to touchscreen interfaces and video capability, vending machines put the consumer at the heart of the experience. Now you can see more information about what you’re buying.

The flexibility of vending machines means they can cater to a wide range of products. These include jewellery, mobile phone accessories, books and a whole lot more besides. Just take a look at one of our blog posts which explores some of the weirdest yet most wonderful vending machines around the world!

And sure enough, we have only been too pleased to get on board with this expansion ourselves. Coinadrink has put our name to a fair few projects over the years helping farms and organisations have a fresh milk vending machine installed, whilst the pandemic saw us start to offer PPE vending machines.

This has been a lifesaver for many businesses who perhaps work in “high risk” areas and require added reassurance.

Product scope, then, is another reason why vending machines may be a golden solution for consumers moving forward. There is now less reason to head off into the nervous uncertainty of busy shopping centres.

Vending machines are already embracing the future.

How Coinadrink has embraced the future of vending.

Those of you who have kept an eye on our social media platforms this year will know that we have embraced the future of vending in line with consumer demand.

The vending industry on the whole identified the importance of reducing the already few touch points a vending machine requires. In fact, with contactless vending equipment such as coffee machines and water coolers, it went further, and we were only too happy to add much of this to our offering.

Distance Selection, available on a variety of Vitro coffee machines and the Neo hot drinks machine, senses your finger up to 2cm away from the machine, so you can vend your hot drink without interacting directly with your equipment. Then there’s a collection of contactless water dispensers, which you can use with a foot pedal or a smartphone.

We also touched on our new range of PPE vending machines above, which have been very popular.

Arguably the biggest arrival, though, has been Purezone antimicrobial technology, which can be applied to a variety of our existing equipment.

The film reduces the presence of a variety of bacteria and viruses, and works continuously for three years from application, unaffected by cleaning protocols.

We believe that this is a major breakthrough in the vending industry. It only emphasises the safety of using a vending machine.

To conclude, it’s easy to predict that more consumers may prefer to use the safety and convenience of a vending machine in the future, but only time will tell.

Happy World Vegan Day from Coinadrink, the vending company.

The 1st of November marks National Vegan Day and the start of vegan month. Did you know that around 2.7% of the world’s population is currently vegan? This lifestyle is rapidly growing more and more popular by the day and Coinadrink Limited, the vending company, can offer vegan products in our snack vending machines and fresh food vending machines, as well as our Micro Market’s through Express Refreshments.

Keep reading to find out more…

The history of Veganism.

Before we get into World Vegan Day, let’s check out the history

People first began avoiding animal products over 2000 years ago, almost as early as 500BCE. This was around the same time that Pythagoras promoted benevolence among species as well as a vegetarian diet. Similarly, Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) also spoke about the vegetarian diet with his supporters at this time.

In November 1944, Donald Watson called a meeting with five other non-dairy vegetarians, to discuss these lifestyles. Even though many held similar views, these six creators were the first to actively create a new movement, despite opposition. The group’s new name was ‘vegan’, a word that encompassed the first three and last two letters of ‘vegetarian’.

Although the vegan diet was defined in 1944, it was as late as 1949 before Leslie J Cross pointed out that society lacked a definition of veganism, which is why something was done about it!

For the record, someone who considers themselves to be a vegan does not eat any food derived from animals and does not use other animal products.

What is World Vegan Day?

Marking the 1st of November, World Vegan Month is celebrated globally to recognise how much has been achieved, as a reflection on vegan successes and an opportunity to highlight how beneficial and accessible the vegan lifestyle is nowadays.

This event can be celebrated in various ways, whether it be committing to a collective challenge or task, sharing vegan recipes or taking a pledge. This helps to promote and raise awareness about the importance of veganism, and you can get involved too. If the world was to go vegan, it is believed around 8 million human lives could be saved by 2050! It’s certainly food for thought.

Vegan products available in our vending machines and Micro Market.

Coinadrink offers a collection of vegan based products in our vending machines and Micro Markets through Express Refreshments. These range from snacks to fresh food to cold drinks. We are happy to tailor our refreshments to suit your requirements, so get in touch with us to find out more.

Statistics show your workforce want a hot drinks vending machine – so take advantage of Coinadrink’s special offer!

As the clocks go back and the weather takes another turn for the worse, life’s little pleasures are more important than ever. Especially in the workplace, where as a MD, manager or team leader it is your responsibility to keep staff morale high. This article will explain the importance of providing high quality hot drinks on site. It may seem something minor, but it can make a big difference to the productivity of your team. And with Coinadrink’s operated vending offer, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of our services.

Think about your hot drinks’ consumption. We’re guessing it’s pretty high, or at the very least is a daily occurrence. Over 90 million cups of coffee are consumed in the UK every single day, whilst over 75% of Brits drink at least one cup of tea every day, too. We’re certainly talking high numbers here.

And with over 60% of our day being spent in the workplace, it’s only natural to see our hot drinks consumption carry over to this environment.

Now think about your workplace. How do you enjoy your hot drinks? A lot of companies may still rely on the kettle, whilst other companies may force their staff off site to the coffee shop or local convenience store. But it’s those that have a hot drinks vending machine installed that are doing it the right way!

And we have more stats to explain why.

Your staff need a hot drinks vending machine.

Let’s first examine the importance of hot drinks at work. The last few years have seen the UK develop a genuine coffee culture, one that sees 81% of people visit the coffee shop weekly.

And we don’t even need to “big up” our nations’ love of tea, with it still remaining the UK’s most popular beverage!

Chances are, your staff crave higher quality hot drinks, so why not provide? At first thought it may seem like it’s impossible to replicate the quality of the coffee shop at work, but with a hot drinks vending machine you really can. Much of our equipment can dispense fresh bean coffee and fresh leaf tea in less than 30 seconds, something the kettle cannot do.

Having a hot drinks vending machine installed in your workplace will keep your staff on site for their break times, something that’s even more important as we approach the colder winter climate.

It’s not just about ensuring your employees stick to their allotted break times, either. It can also strengthen relationships with their colleagues. Four in five people who take coffee breaks with their work mates reported that it helped them to develop a stronger working relationship.

And three quarters of workers agree that having access to high quality coffee at work shows their employer cares for their wellbeing. This translates to a more productive workforce, with 90% of workers saying high quality coffee motivates them to do their best at work.

So, the results speak for themselves. At the moment, chances are you’re either forcing your staff off site for their coffee and tea fix or providing sub-par facilities on site.

Your staff need a hot drinks vending machine at work.

Take advantage of our special offer.

Ease your workplace into the colder weather with the help of our operated vending offer we currently have available.

Right now, enjoy your first 500 hot drinks completely free when you sign any operated vending agreement with us.

An operated vending contract is available on our floorstanding hot drinks machines, ideal for larger workplaces. With our award-winning operated vending service, you can enjoy high quality tea and coffee and leave us to handle all the replenishment and maintenance on a custom schedule to suit you.

Having a hot drinks machine on site is convenient and highly cost-effective, not to mention the benefits it brings to the wellbeing and productivity of the workforce.

Contact Coinadrink Limited today and start giving your workforce what they really want on site…

October is Fairtrade month! Here is how Coinadrink Limited show our support.

The importance of Fairtrade is emphasised during October when the entirety of the month is dedicated to raising awareness. Most people will understand that Fairtrade is something that should be supported, but do we always know why? This article will detail exactly what it is that Fairtrade does, as well as highlight how Coinadrink Limited supports the movement.

The background to Fairtrade.

The Fairtrade Foundation dates back to 1946, when Ten Thousand Villages, a Fairtrade organisation today, began buying needlework from Puerto Rico in 1946. The first official ‘Fairtrade’ shop which sold these products opened its doors in 1958 in the USA. Soon enough, the organisation began to make its way to UK shores. Oxfam began selling crafts made by Chinese refugees and by 1964, the Fairtrade Foundation was officially formed. And poorer countries have been benefitting ever since.

What does the Fairtrade Foundation support?

As stated on their website, buying Fairtrade and supporting the foundation ensures you have the power to change the world every day. With simple changes to your purchasing habits, you can make sure farmers get a better deal on their products. Such products include coffee beans, fruit, chocolate and clothing.

But that’s not all. The Fairtrade Foundation also fights to provide better working conditions and local sustainability, largely helped by forcing companies to pay a fair price. Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

In short, then, supporting the Fairtrade organisation is a simple way to give coffee farmers the recognition that their hard work deserves.

The foundation works hard throughout 74 countries over four continents, including Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, India and Sri Lanka. It aims to boost awareness by holding events and campaigns. If a product is Fairtrade registered, it will carry the specialist mark.

Facts and Figures.

Here’s a little snippet of some interesting information regarding the Fairtrade Foundation.

  • There are more than 1.65 million farmers and workers in Fairtrade certified producer organisations.
  • There are 1,226 certified producer organisations across 74 countries.
  • 26% of all farmers and workers are women.
  • Small producer organisations spent 31% of their Fairtrade premium on investments supporting productivity or quality improvements.
  • On plantations, workers spent 26% of their premium on education.

How do we support Fairtrade?

We often enjoy key amenities such as our morning coffee yet rarely give a thought for where they derived from.

When you enjoy a delicious hot beverage from one of our coffee or vending machines, you can be assured that the coffee beans used have travelled from a sustainable background that recognises the hard work of the coffee farmer.

You can read more about our support for the Fairtrade Foundation here.

Don’t settle for a vending supplier that doesn’t go the extra mile to support coffee farmers in some of the poorest parts of the world. Trust Coinadrink Limited.

Keep your staff on site during the colder months with a vending machine or Micro Market!

Whilst it’s important for your team to take regular breaks, keeping them on site for their downtime now just got even more important. With the unpredictable autumnal weather well and truly upon us, you should be looking to review your facilities on site. Through Coinadrink and our branch division Express Refreshments, responsible for the UK’s first ever Micro Market in 2013, we take a look at why you should be looking to upgrade your refreshment facilities in your workplace and how we can help with our vending machine services.

What do your workforce actually want?

First of all, it’s probably a good idea to examine what your workforce actually wants and why refreshments on site are important. We’ll jump straight into it with some important statistics.

So, you see, whether it’s coffee or water, office workers are demanding high quality tea and coffee on their premises. And with 89% of workers at companies that support wellbeing initiatives saying they would recommend their company as a good place to work, it’s clear that refreshments are an effective tool to shine a positive light on the culture of your business.

Why you should keep your staff on site for their refreshments.

We have always maintained that a vending machine, coffee machine or a Micro Market is a great solution to the wellbeing issues that plague workers up and down the country. A key reason why is because they keep staff on site, which carries a lot of individual benefits.

  • Staff are more likely to keep to their allocated break time.
  • Staff will enjoy a more meaningful break time, one that doesn’t involve rushing around and queuing in coffee shops or fast food outlets.
  • Staff will be able to relax with their colleagues, strengthening relationships and engagement.
  • Staff won’t have to brave the harsh elements during the colder, wetter weather.

Encouraging your team to stay on your premises during break time improves relationships, boosts morale and increases productivity. Especially as we enter the colder seasons!

How a vending machine can improve workplace wellbeing.

Why a vending machine is a great choice.

If you’ve recognised the need to keep staff on site for their refreshments, you may be looking at the best solutions. The kettle is the common choice, it would seem.

But the kettle is an archaic refreshment solution that should have been discarded from the workplace a long time ago. It’s slow, consumes a lot of energy and cannot capture the level of quality your workforce quite clearly requires.

And in the current unprecedented times, when everybody puts a greater emphasis on hygiene, using the kettle contains too many touch points to recommend it as a safe option.

A vending machine eliminates those touch points by having all ingredients stored within the machine. And with new Purezone technology, now available on a number of Coinadrink equipment, you can continue to use your vending machine with peace of mind. Or why not check out our range of contactless equipment?

Elsewhere, there are a number of additional benefits:

  • Cost-effective.
  • Convenient and easy to manage. We can even handle the maintenance and replenishment for you if required.
  • High quality beverages including fresh bean coffee and fresh leaf tea.
  • Healthier snacks, fresh food and cold drinks.
  • Stylish, innovative and technologically advanced.

Why your business needs a vending machine!

Or upgrade to a Micro Market.

Our range of vending machines can cater to a higher volume of staff, but what if you’re looking for a solution that’s specifically designed for larger workplaces? That’s where the Micro Market comes in.

Through Express Refreshments, we have more experience than any other UK company in Micro Market’s. To summarise, a Micro Market is a self-service convenience store that’s tailored to suit your workplace. A variety of quality refreshments are available in an open plan design that’s accessible 24 hours a day. This makes it perfect for larger sites in remote locations.

We mentioned above the importance of keeping staff on site for their break time and the Micro Market provides everything that’s needed.

Hot drinks, cold drinks, snacks and more are available here, and whilst products are pre-packaged to grab-and-go, we can also intertwine your market with your breakout area to encourage a more meaningful break time with your colleagues.

Unlike a canteen, which remains a popular choice amongst larger sites, a Micro Market can work for any type of business with any space available. And because it’s unmanned, it becomes most cost-effective and a lot more hygienic. Even payment is handled through an innovative, cashless terminal.

A Micro Market could be a great choice.

Ask about a vending machine or a Micro Market today.

Coinadrink has over 58 years’ experience in making vending work for all businesses. And Express Refreshments was developed on the back of our experience, identifying a gap in the market for larger workplaces.

Through our services, we can help increase wellbeing and improve productivity. And now we’re well and truly in the autumn season, there couldn’t be a better time to upgrade your facilities on site.

We hope this article has been of benefit to you. To enquire about our services, or for further information, contact us on 01922 640777 or visit our website to leave us a message.

Fairtrade Awareness on International Coffee Day 2020.

Bookmarked for the 1st October every year, International Coffee Day celebrates the world’s love of coffee. Over 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed every single day across our planet, so it’s only right that such popularity is recognised. The following article from Coinadrink Limited will explore not only the history of this special event, but also the coffee farming traditions typically surrounding this celebration.

International Coffee Day: A Background.

To understand more about International Coffee Day (ICO), it’s firstly important to recognise the organisation behind it: The International Coffee Organisation.

The International Coffee Organisation was founded in London in 1963. It was formed as a way to highlight the economic importance of coffee and how so many people’s livelihoods rely on it.

There are 49 member states of the ICO including Brazil, India and Thailand and these states represent 99% of world coffee production and 67% of world consumption. The ICO’s headquarters is located at 222 Gray’s Inn Road in London. Its current executive director is the Brazilian José Sette.

We have covered the history of coffee before, with this famous beverage believed to have originated courtesy of a heard of goats in Ethiopia around 600 years ago. Since then coffee has travelled around the world at huge pace. International Coffee Day was recorded as an official event in 2014.

International Coffee Day 2020: #CoffeePledge.

This year, International Coffee Day is highlighting the potentially devastating impact coffee culture is having on coffee farmers. And for once, this has little to do with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The sad reality is that coffee farmers have been poorly paid for a long time now. Coffee continues to be imported on a huge scale to numerous countries across the world. 95 million cups of coffee are consumed every day in the UK alone, with 80% of Brits thought to visit a coffee shop once a week. But whilst this has led prices in the hospitality to shoot up, coffee farmers are not experiencing the benefits of this high demand.

International Coffee Day has always fought this injustice. And for 2020, they are taking this fight further. They are asking everyone, including the Government, those in the hospitality industry and even regular coffee drinkers, to recognise the battle with the #CoffeePledge hashtag. This is to raise awareness of a growing problem and to support a living income for coffee farmers.

Of course, there will be other ways people will mark this event. Recent traditions typically include coffee shops lowering their prices for this solitary day.

Coinadrink’s support of Fairtrade.

A lot of this support will come through highlighting the effectiveness of the Fairtrade organisation. Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

Coinadrink is a proud supporter of the Fairtrade organisation. We believe in giving producers a fair deal and we promise to support ethical production and sustainable development. We are proud to say that many of the products in our vending machines are Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade certified, which means we are helping to protect both farmers and their farms.

Ask about Coinadrink’s range of quality refurbished vending machines!

Coinadrink Limited is a trusted vending company supplying hot and cold drinks, fresh food, snacks and water to the West Midlands and immediate surrounding areas. Amongst other things, a key attribute that sets us apart from the competition is our pledge for quality. And with our range of refurbished vending machines, you can enjoy the “Coinadrink quality” for less.

Our history has been built on the belief that vending machines are an excellent solution to providing food and drink on site. They can even boost the wellbeing and productivity of your workforce, which is why they are now strongly regarded as a necessity to have. We feel that everybody should have access to these benefits.

As part of our pro-active CSR strategy, we make every effort to reuse our vending machines. In a lot of cases we do, though if a vending machine exceeds 8 years old then we can no longer guarantee the sort of quality we want to provide to our customers. In this case we will appropriately discard the machine using the correct channels.

You can read more about Coinadrink’s CSR strategy here.

Our refurbished vending machine range covers hot drinks machines, snack machines, cold drinks machines and water coolers, though only certain models.

How we guarantee quality with our refurbished vending machines.

Every vending machine that we bring back from a customers’ premises gets thoroughly checked for the condition it has been returned to us in. We then decide whether we ourselves can carry out the refurb, or whether this needs to be done using a trusted third-party company we work with.

If we can handle the refurb ourselves, the vending machine will then go through a 30-point checklist that leaves no stone unturned. This includes a variety of maintenance, from sanitising all contact parts to stripping and replacing the major components. The boiler is also removed to be appropriately descaled.

Essentially, then, our refurbished vending machines are pretty much brand new where it really matters. The machine is then put through a rigorous test to make sure everything operates as it should.

Just because you’re having a refurbished vending machine, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the sort of additions you want. Just like what we offer with our new machines, we can individually set up your machine to suit your requirements. This includes adding vinyl finishes and your corporate branding and colours.

If you’ve visited our website or been on our social media channels recently, you will have noticed the arrival of Purezone antimicrobial technology. Compatible with a number of our vending machines, Purezone is a transparent film that reduces the number of bacteria and viruses on your equipment. It is unaffected by our general cleaning protocols and doesn’t require you to change the way you use your equipment.

As a welcome bonus for customers enjoying one of our refurbished vending machines, you can now enjoy Purezone technology as standard, providing your equipment is compatible. If it’s not, you will still enjoy all the hygiene standards that set Coinadrink apart from the competition. This delivers complete peace of mind.

Get started with a refurbished vending machine.

We recently produced a blog post about the benefits of having a vending machine in the workplace, including the fact that they are cost-effective and easy to use and maintain.

A refurbished vending machine introduces these benefits for less and is a great way to experience vending. As our stock varies, why not contact us today about what you can currently enjoy?

We’d love to hear from you!

West Midlands vending firm Coinadrink Limited helps deliver safer vending for everyone.

Like most things in the world, vending and coffee machines have dramatically progressed through innovation. Since Hero of Alexander invented the world’s first vending machine in the late 1800’s, the vending industry as a whole has only continued to grow.

West Midlands vending firm Coinadrink Limited, already pro-active with our industry leading hygiene standards, has introduced new innovation to our range that takes vending into territory never seen before. Through contactless equipment, advanced technologies and clever adaptations, vending machines and water dispensers now deliver peace of mind as standard.

Read more below.

Coinadrink Limited is a supplier of vending machines, so we work in collaboration with our suppliers to provide equipment and technologies to our customer base. We aren’t tied down to any of these companies, meaning we are in the best position to offer innovation that we see meaningful advantages in.

Coinadrink has always maintained vending machines are a safer way to enjoy refreshments than commonplace alternatives. This is especially the case when you choose us as your supplier, as we break the hygiene boundaries for your peace of mind. A vending machine requires fewer touch points than using the kettle, for example, what with all the shared amenities including milk and sugar.

But then we saw an opportunity to take this to the next level.

Breakthrough technology introduces a safer vending machine experience.

We have now introduced a dedicated “contactless” range to our flexible machine lineup. You can find this on our website. Whilst this webpage may not contain equipment that is all contactless, it does group together everything that helps deliver a safer vending experience. In fact, one of our biggest recent additions still involves interacting with your vending machine as you usually would!

Purezone antimicrobial film can be fitted to any machine that utilises a touchscreen or touch sensitive user interface. Whilst the transparent nature is barely noticeable to the user, the reactive silver ions it contains will quickly inhibit any bacteria. This prevents the spread between two disinfection protocols and reduces a variety of bacteria and viruses.

We didn’t want to limit such a revolutionary vending experience to a collection of new equipment, so we’re confident all of our customers will appreciate being able to use Purezone with their existing machine, providing their machine is included in the available list. And we’re confident that this arrival will revolutionise an industry that just keeps on growing.

Purezone technology from Coinadrink Limited delivers unrivalled peace of mind.

The arrival of contactless equipment.

For those intrigued at the prospect of contactless equipment, however, we have good news to share. From a recent survey, 81% of respondents suggested they would like higher quality tea and coffee in their workplace. The stylish Vitro, with fresh bean coffee available, has always provided that. And thanks to “Distance Selection”, it now provides added peace of mind in addition.

Distance Selection enables the user to make their selection simply by “hovering” their finger over the desired icon. This completely eliminates the need to interact with the machine directly, which reduces the vital touch point many businesses were concerned about. Distance Selection is fitted to all new Vitro (excluding the S1) and Neo models as standard, though can be retrofitted to existing machines.

Moving onto water and there has been an incredible level of innovation witnessed here, too. We initially acquired exciting new equipment from a trusted supplier that would showcase the rate in which vending and similar equipment could adapt to the rapid change in demand. Our new water coolers from AA First make it easy to place your cup or bottled against the button in order to dispense water. Again, this reduces the need to interact with the cooler directly.

As an added bonus, however, these water coolers use Sip Neo 3 technology. This means the dispensers can automatically “self-sanitise” on a custom schedule tailored to the customer. Coinadrink’s sanitisation process on our water coolers is already industry leading, but it’s reassuring to know this equipment can “fill in the blanks” when our operators aren’t on site.

Our keen eye for advantageous innovation grew wider. It wasn’t long before we adopted new accessories that introduced a contactless dispense to certain existing water coolers. The stylish Borg B3 and B4 plumbed-in water dispensers were the dispensers taking centre stage. Firstly, a simple yet effective hands-free foot switch was made available in collaboration with this equipment, providing customers with a fantastic way to minimise those all-important touch points with their equipment.

This then travelled further with the arrival of a new mobile application a few months later. Positioned as an upgrade for new and existing B3 and B4 models, and able to work conjunction with the foot switch, the mobile app enabled the user to control their cooler using just their smartphone. Bluetooth connectivity ensures of a seamless process from initial set up to ongoing usage. Customers can even connect to multiple coolers if they have more than one.

With over 90% of people between 16 and 54 using a mobile phone in the UK today, it makes perfect sense to intertwine our smartphones with our refreshment facilities. We have already recorded strong demand for this enticing add-on, as we’ve had with our existing contactless solutions and technologies.

Borg's new mobile app introduces another contactless hydration experience.

PPE Vending Machines from Coinadrink!

As a final point to this article, we’re delighted to say that we are now also offering PPE vending machines. Supplied early on in the pandemic, we worked with a close supplier to recognise this fantastic opportunity. Modern day vending machines are capable of storing and dispensing a variety of products. Our new service line adapts snack vending machines to deliver essential PPE including face masks, goggles and hand sanitiser.

A vending machine is a great solution for providing PPE as it’s safe, secure and easy to use. The snack machines in question are robust and reliable enough to be placed almost anywhere, including public environments, and they’re a very good option for larger workspaces. A key issue with the provision of PPE has always been monitoring the items and reducing waste. Choosing a vending machine from Coinadrink provides added peace of mind with a handy key card that shows you exactly where your PPE is going.

We now supply PPE vending machines!

Experience a new era of vending with Coinadrink Limited!

We hope this article has conveyed the rapid rise in the progression of vending and workplace refreshments. And not only it’s progression, but also its flexibility and adaptability in being able to face the pandemic head on with enticing solutions. Breakthrough Purezone technology introduces a more hygienic vending machine experience!

In what is huge news for our prospective and existing customers, Coinadrink Limited delighted to announce that we are now offering a product called Purezone. Purezone is a transparent film that is applied directly over touch screens and interfaces, to fight bacteria 24/7. This provides a welcome layer of protection during a time when this is essential to most.

How does Purezone reduce the spread of bacteria?

The antimicrobial film reduces the presence of a variety of bacteria and viruses, by utilising reactive silver ions to inhibit the environment that they would usually thrive in. Best of all, this works continuously, without the need for cleaning between every use.

Coupled with the exemplary hygiene standards that Coinadrink work to, this further emphasises our dedication to health and safety. The film is effective for up to three years from application and is unaffected by general cleaning protocols that our operators follow.

Whilst we continue to emphasise that vending is perfectly safe to continue using in your workplace, we appreciate that more people now require added reassurance from their facilities. Purezone ensures your team can continue using vending machines with extremely minimal concern.

Can Purezone be fitted on my vending machine?

Because Purezone acts as a laminate film, the good news is that it can be fitted to a number of our vending and coffee machines!

View the list of machines below to see which equipment this can be fitted to:

  • ICON floor standing hot drinks machine.
  • COTI floor standing hot drinks machine.

Borg’s mobile app offers another contactless hydration solution!

Contactless refreshment solutions for the workplace have really taken the industry by storm during the current pandemic. Whilst vending and water dispensers remain a safe way to stay refreshed on site, more and more of us are still demanding added reassurance.

Borg and Overstrom have helped drive the change. Already offering a hands-free foot switch that can be used in conjunction with their B3 and B4 water coolers respectively, they have now introduced a smartphone application that allows you to control your dispenser using just your mobile phone. This is a great contactless hydration solution.

How does the mobile app work?

The whole process is extremely straightforward. The app is available both on the Google Play Store and the App Store and connects your phone to your cooler using Bluetooth connectivity. You are also able to connect to multiple coolers for businesses that have more than one.

Once connected, here is how it works.

  • Open up the app.
  • Select your water cooler.
  • Place your cup or bottle into the dispense area.
  • Choose between the available configurations your cooler offers (chilled, ambient, hot, or sparkling water). Press and hold to dispense.
  • Enjoy beautifully filtered water with added peace of mind.

It is available on the Borg B3 and B4 mark two models. These are the more recent models and can be identified by touch sensitive buttons as opposed to push buttons. The technology is positioned as an optional upgrade on these models for both new and existing equipment.

Multiple people are able to connect to any one water cooler, making it a great solution if you have a high volume of staff. It also works in collaboration with the hands-free foot switch and provides another contactless hydration option for you and your team.

The benefits of using Borg’s mobile app.

Over 55 million people use a smartphone in the UK. 91% of people aged between 16 and 54 have one! We are very much a mobile orientated world, both for personal and business use.

This makes a smartphone a great solution to provide contactless hydration options as it is completely personal to you. This reduces the amount of shared touch points.

A smartphone also acts as a safety measure, particularly when using it alongside your water dispenser. For example, if your cooler delivers hot water then the mobile app requires the user to input two touches: one to “release” the hot water and another to deliver it. This prevents accidental inputs and the risk of scalding yourself.

Contact us today to enjoy a contactless hydration experience.

As mentioned, the mobile app is available with second generation Borg B3 and B4 models. Coming 1stSeptember, get in touch with us today for pricing information and add yet another level of reassurance when using your water cooler.

Why you need a vending machine in your workplace.

Having a vending machine in the workplace is a great way to keep your employees refreshed. They can dispense hot and cold drinks, fresh food, snacks and even PPE!

And as the years evolve, so do vending machines. They are now more advanced than ever and bring countless benefits to your business. Learn why you need a vending machine.

No overhead costs.

Having a vending machine is a cost-effective way to provide food and drink on site. Unlike a canteen, you don’t need to employ anyone to run a vending machine, so it is one less wage to worry about. Additionally, you don’t need to rent any extra office space.

Easy to manage and maintain.

Modern day vending machines are incredibly easy to stock. Coinadrink also offers a service plan on our equipment so we can do this ourselves as part of a custom schedule if you prefer. Once the machine is installed, it requires very little maintenance and they’re extremely reliable and easy to use.

High-quality products.

This equipment also dispenses high quality products. Take our advanced hot drinks machines, for example. Cutting-edge technology that is hidden behind stylish designs can deliver fresh bean coffee and fresh leaf tea as you’d expect from the coffee shop. The kettle cannot offer this.

Hygiene.

Using a vending machine entails fewer touch points than using a kettle to make your hot drink. This is important if you require more hygienic workplace facilities. A vending machine has been proven to be a safe entity for the provision of food and drink, especially if you choose a supplier like Coinadrink Limited.

Time saving.

A vending machine is much quicker than using the kettle. The vast majority of them take under 30 seconds, whilst the likes of the Klix Momentum need just 17 seconds! This means your staff can be back at their desks getting on with their work quicker. An extra bonus? There’s no need to wash up your cups and mugs!

Wellbeing and productivity.

Because vending machines dispense quality hot drinks and products in no time at all, your staff can grab what they need whenever they want! They also encourage staff to stay on site, which forges stronger working relationships with colleagues.

Contact Coinadrink about a vending machine today.

Can you really afford not to have a vending machine in your workplace? Coinadrink Limited is a trusted supplier with over 58 years’ experience. We tailor our solutions to suit your requirements and we pledge to make vending work for you with industry leading customer service and hygiene standards.

It’s Afternoon Tea Week! How did this famous British tradition originate?

Monday 10th through to Sunday 16th August is Afternoon Tea Week. These seven days celebrate a famous British tradition that travels back centuries! Whether you go out to enjoy afternoon tea or savour in it at home, it’s a great way to wind down and relax either alone or in a group. But how did afternoon tea originate and why is it so special to us Brits? Coinadrink Limited takes a look.

When did afternoon tea originate?

Tea first appeared in Great Britain back in the mid 1600’s, but the concept of afternoon tea arrived later in the 19th century.

It was actually 1840 that its history can be traced back to, if the story is to be believed. Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, would become hungry at around 4pm. The evening meal in her household was served rather late at around 8pm, so she asked that a tray of tea, bread and butter was brought up to her room during the late afternoon.

It was at this moment that afternoon tea first originated.

What does it entail?

And from that moment, the tradition really took off. It soon became a social affair for the upper class in particular, where women would change into long gowns and wear fancy hats and gloves.

Historically, it has always consisted of a dainty selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes and of course a pot of tea. You can still find places that stand by these traditions today, and it is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and family.

As time moves on and the world gets busier, though, the tradition has turned into somewhat of a rushed affair. A mug of tea and a biscuit may suffice now, but for true enthusiasts this will never quite cut it!

There are certain locations around the country that are believed to “do it best.” Devon, for example, is supposedly home to the some of the best scones and cream tea around, whilst places in North Wales have also forged a solid reputation.

What is the best afternoon tea you have ever had, and where was it?

Yes, we supply water coolers! And now is a great time to take advantage with our special offer…

Coinadrink is an advanced vending supplier with over 58 years’ experience. We provide freestanding hot drinks machines, tabletop coffee machines, snack vending machines and fresh food machines. But what sometimes dips under the radar is the fact we also supply a variety of water coolers, including both plumbed-in and bottled dispensers.

Now we’re well into the summer reason, a water cooler is a fantastic source to keep your team hydrated throughout the day. Stylish, hygienic and enriched with quality, Coinadrink can tailor all of our water dispensers to suit your unique requirements. And with a special welcome offer to get you started, now is a great time to take advantage of our services…

Why choose a water cooler?

A water cooler is the modern way to keep your team hydrated in the workplace. Sure, you may think you’re doing just fine using the kitchen tap, but it simply can’t deliver the same quality a water cooler can.

Most traditional tap systems don’t filter out impurities. At best this means your water won’t taste very nice, but at worst it could mean your water is unsafe to consume over long periods. Modern day water coolers deliver crystal clear filtered water without any “nasties”, thanks to advanced filtration systems. What’s more, they do so in a stylish and energy efficient manner!

This is something more and more people are demanding. In fact, Facilities Managers say 64% of millennials, who now make up a large proportion of the modern workforce, require easily accessible filtered water in the workplace. It is important to cater to demand.

And during a time where hygiene is at the forefront of our minds, you can now enjoy “contactless” water coolers equipped with self-sanitising technology. This takes healthy hydration to a level never seen before.

Coinadrink's sanitisation process for water dispensers.

Quality water coolers perfect for your working environment.

Coinadrink began supplying water coolers in 1991. Like the rest of our services, we pledged to do things differently to the competition and put a clear emphasis on quality, customer service and hygiene.

We take the time to understand your requirements before tailoring our range to suit. We provide everything from practical and cost-effective bottled water coolers through to innovative plumbed-in water coolers that help turn any location into a destination.

Once you have your water cooler installed, you will benefit from industry leading after service that includes a unique sanitisation process. This leaves nothing to chance and ensures your water is always clean and safe to enjoy.

And remember, whilst a water cooler remains a safe way to deliver beautifully filtered drinking water, you can now take peace of mind further with “contactless” water coolers. Check out the AA First 3300x!

A contemporary range of water coolers from Coinadrink. Perfect all year round.

The dark depths of dehydration at work.

A water cooler is a great focal point for healthy hydration and can actually encourage staff to drink enough throughout the day. This is important when you learn the direct impact hydration can have on productivity.

A third of workers in a recent study said they understood the damage, but do they? In a shocking statistic, it has been suggested that just a 1% drop in hydration can result in a 12% drop in productivity. That means a 5% drop in hydration would equate to a productivity level that has dropped more than half!

It’s a scary thought, but one that’s realistic when you consider the stresses and strains of the modern working day. Amidst the paperwork, the emails and the meetings, it’s easy to push hydration to the back of your mind.

A water cooler is a stylish way to remind employees of its importance. In many ways, then, a water cooler in the workplace could actually be considered a necessity.

Enjoy this welcome offer to get you started!

And a water cooler is more accessible than you think. Whatever your preference and budget, Coinadrink’s customer-centric approach means we can help and our transparent contracts deliver complete reassurance.

For a limited time, you can also enjoy an enticing offer to get your workplace going in the world of healthy hydration. For those looking for a plumbed-in water cooler, enjoy 1000 plastic cups to get you started. After a bottled water cooler? Take three free water bottles instead. Both of these offers are subject to signing a 36-month contract.

So, what are you waiting for? Contact Coinadrink about our water coolers today!
