The Nation’s favourite biscuit has been revealed. And it’s confusing.

There are so many different types of biscuit, it’s hard to decide on a favourite? Well, the nation has answered the question for you. Take a look at some of the top-ranking biscuits in the UK. One of them is debatable and it just so happens to be the most popular!

I want to know the best ranking biscuit…

Here are the top five ranked biscuits…

In fifth place, we have custard creams. This biscuit has the best of both worlds; a cream filling with two biscuit layers on either side creating the perfect biscuit sandwich!

In fourth place, we have chocolate digestives! This chocolate covered, aesthetically pleasing treats are great for dipping in your coffee or tea.

It’s getting closer to the winner now! Ooh, in third place we have Bourbons! These chocolatey, creamy sandwiches are to die for!

Second place is the unbeatable shortbread biscuits. These Scottish delights have the best buttery and crumbly texture ever.

Drum roll please… the winner of the UK’s best biscuit is… Jaffa Cakes! These fluffy, orange filled chocolate covered delights are undeniably delicious. Check out the classic advert from 7 years ago below!

However, there is something that’s causing some confusion here…

Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit or a…cake?

This is an ongoing debate due to many people assuming that a Jaffa Cake is a cake, naturally, due to its name. Although, the width and depth of the Jaffa Cake mean it is actually classed as a biscuit. This is confusing, right?

Then there’s the other argument: the fact that cakes go hard when they are left out and biscuits go soft. Does this tell us what the Jaffa Cake is?

What do you think it is? A cake or a biscuit? Let us know by contacting us online or emailing alistair@coinadrink.co.uk.
